Round 2
It's been six months since the release of Alibre Design Xpress and many thousands more people have become users of this exciting 3D parametric solid modeling software -- many who would not otherwise have the chance to work with such powerful design software. To celebrate this milestone we're launching another design contest. As before, this contest will be held live in the Alibre Design Xpress User Forums. Everyone will have the chance to see and comment on submissions, enter their own, and, upon the entry deadline, cast their vote for the new winners.
Enter your designs in the Alibre Design Xpress Contest for the chance to win bragging rights and one of the thousands of dollars in prizes. Seats of Alibre Design software and cold hard cash are up for grabs.
- Review and accept the Terms and Conditions posted here and in the Design Contest Forum.
- Submit each of your entries as a New Topic in the Design Contest Forum by the entry deadline, midnight CDT, April 30, 2006.
- Include a title and a description of how the design would be used in the real world.
- Include one or two 800 x 600 pixel images of the model
- First Place - $500 cash award and a license of Alibre Design Expert
- Second Place - $250 cash award and a license of Alibre Design Professional
- Third Place - A license of Alibre Design plus Alibre Photorender
- Honorable Mention (5) - $50 cash
Important Dates
- Entry deadline: Midnight CDT, April 30, 2006.
- Voting will start May 1 and close May 7, 2006.
- Finalists will be notified by email and must submit their model for verification by May 10.
- Winners will be announced May 15 and posted on the Alibre Design Xpress Contest Winners page.
- Participants must be registered Alibre Design Xpress users with a valid license for Alibre Design Xpress
- Designs must be created primarily with Alibre Design Xpress.
- Designs entered in the 2005 Alibre Design Xpress Contest are not eligible.
- Upon request by Alibre, design files must be provided for verification to ensure authenticity and that they were created in Alibre Design Xpress.
- Entries will be submitted to and displayed in the Alibre Design Xpress Forum in the Design Contest forum and may be voted upon by fellow users of Alibre Design products. Each submission must have a description and demonstrate serious intent/design or usage.
- Voting takes place in the Alibre Xpress User Forum. Registration in the user forum is required to vote. Entries can be viewed by everyone.
- Final contest winner will be decided by Alibre, Inc.
- Contestants must be opted in for Alibre Design Xpress communications to participate.
You may update your account profile here if necessary.
- An Entry may be disqualified and removed if it violates the rules of the Alibre Design Xpress Forum or the Terms and Conditions of the contest.
- During final judging, the following elements will be taken into consideration:
- Number of features
- Overall complexity of geometry
- Manufacturability
- Popularity among Forum users
- Elegance and creativity of model
- Employees of Alibre and their families are not eligible for the contest.
